Chapels and Crematorium
The Honkanummi chapel was inaugurated in 1956. The chapel building was completed in 1955, and it was designed by architect Erik Bryggman. The façade is adorned by a relief sculpted by Johan Vikainen. The chapel merges beautifully with its surroundings. The light that comes through the windows creates a delicate atmosphere in the interior.
The Honkanummi chapel consists of two separate funeral chapels, the large and the small chapel. The building is listed. The chapel also has a crematorium, a waiting room for family members and relatives, an urn handover room, and a room for the presentation of the deceased for viewing.
